This week I reached the turning point in my story!!!

I’m so happy to have made it this far. It’s honestly emotional to see a world that once lived only in my mind taking shape on the page. Can you imagine when I finally publish it? I’m definitely going to cry! Hahaha.

Miguel, who used to live in an idyllic countryside, is now heading to the city. What kind of adventures await him there? (I know… but I’m not telling! hehe)

But before that, he still has a few lighthearted moments — and the soundtrack for this part was inspired by 1920s rock! It was hands down the most fun song I’ve written so far.

In the highlighted scene, he visits his grandmother’s "library" and finds some rather questionable titles like The Fury of Passion, An Angel in My Life, and Valenttino: A Love Story in Venice. No surprise there — they were inspired by the romance novels that used to be sold at newsstands, and which played a huge role in women’s literary journeys.

I like to think of them as the grandmothers of today’s Kindle best-selling romances! Which means romance is still the main gateway to reading for so many women around the world.

But Miguel, just like me, prefers something a little different...

Did you also grow up with these kinds of books around the house? Drop a comment!

See you!
